About the Trust
Ch. Rahmat Ali Memorial Trust (CRAMT), Township, Lahore is charitable institution, established in 1976 under Trust Act 1882, to undertake health care services, school education and religious studies for the under-served and marginalized masses of the neighborhood.
It was established in the memory of Late Chaudhry Rahmat Ali; a Hero of Pakistan movement who suggested the name of “Pakistan”. It was established by Late Prof. Dr. S. M. K. Wasti along with a group of likeminded social entrepreneurs of the time. Prof. Dr. Wasti was a highly acclaimed Pediatrician of his times and was affectionally called as “Father of Pediatrics due to his dedicated efforts for the development and advancement of “mother, child & family healthcare”.
Trust Areas of Services
Ch. Rahmat Ali Memorial Trust is managing five institutions under its umbrella in three service areas
1- Chaudhry Rahmat Ali Trust Hospital established in 1986; a 48-bed hospital with a vibrant OPD, 24/7 Emergency, diagnostics, pharmacy offering regularly 10 % discount on all medicines and medical consultation along with free medicines to deserving patients.
2- The Trust manages three schools established since early 1990’s on purpose-built campuses having vast lush green play grounds:
- Boys High School: Established in 1992
- Girls High School: Established in 1994
- Junior School; An Early Learning school
(Originally established as Intermediate Girls college in 2000 but repurposed as Junior School in 2022.)
3- Darul Uloom was established in early 1990’s comprising upon a Mosque and a residential Madressah.
Trust Registration and certifications
- Ch. Rahmat Ali Memorial Trust is registered with the Punjab Charity Commission (PCC), Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy (PCP), FBR and all relevant regulatory institutions of the government.
- All donations are tax exempted under section 2 (36) of the Income tax Ordinance 2001.
- The Trust is certifying as Sharia compliant and is certified and supervise by a full time Sharia Advisory entity.
- The Trust manages it donations/funds through a well-defined and transparent system. its Annual accounts are audited by one of the top 15 Audit Firms of Pakistan.
